Kia Philippines joins the global rebranding initiative of the Korean carmaker, with a focus on electric vehicles (EVs) and purpose-built vehicles that will meet current demand.
Manny Aligada, Kia Philippines president, led yesterday’s unveiling of two models, the fourth-generation Kia Sorento and the Kia Stonic Style Edition in conjunction with the unveiling of the new corporate identity.
More than a change in emblem, Kia joins the global vision of Movement that Inspires.
According to Aligada, Kia Philippines, in tandem with sister companies within the Ayala Group such as the manufacturing arm Integrated Microelectronics Inc., are working on building an infrastructure and ecosystem for EVs with substantial development by 2022 before the introduction of EVs.
When asked if AC industrials is planning setup charging stations, Aligada said: “ If if they are the ones that will be best fit to provide a solution for the required ecosystem, then we will do so. Of course there is guidance from our shareholder in gear they will have to drive us on what is required because they were the ones who will be developing the electric vehicles,” Aligada added.
