Truck maker Isuzu Philippines Corp. (IPC) is bullish on the company’s prospects for the year as it expects to improve its sales despite economic challenges.
Tetsuya Fujita, IPC president, said growth projections are still under discussion but “we are expecting so much more (units in sales) than last year as the economy gets better.”
As the sixth largest automotive company in terms of sales, IPC sold 17,639 units in 2022, a 22 percent increase from 14,424 units in 2021. It ranked first in truck sales: 2,952 units in light trucks and 1,431 units in heavy duty trucks.
Fujita is also optimistic about the economy and the automotive industry despite the challenges posed by semiconductor and supply chain issues as well as the Ukraine-Russia war.
“We will keep going on the same direction of (my predecessors who have shown) strong leadership.
We would like to be the best business partners of our customers,” he said.
IPC, he said, will focus on innovating its facilities including its dealerships.
Fujita said there are no plans to introduce new models as of this time but IPC will continue to push its bestselling models including the Mu-X and the D-Max.
