IONICS EMS Inc., an electronic manufacturing services (EMS) provider and original design manufacturer, is gearing up for future expansion with the construction of two new buildings within the Light Industry and Science Park (LISP) in Malvar, Batangas.
Earl Qua, Ionics EMS vice president for business development, told reporters in a chance interview in Makati City before the weekend the company is eyeing 10 percent topline growth this year. He declined to give a figure for absolute value.
While this is a slower rise than the 20 percent annual increases the past three years, Qua said demand for Ionics EMS products remains stable.
The two buildings, set to break ground in June on a four-hectare property in LISP, will initially be used internally for general purposes like warehousing and for sub-leasing to third-party locators, he added.
The buildings are also slated to accommodate future expansion as they can be converted into factories, Qua said.
He said construction of the buildings will be completed within one year.
Ionics EMS produces printed circuit board assembly or PCBA for printers and all kinds of gadgets for global players, Qua said.
Ionics EMS is a publicly listed company on the Philippines Stock Exchange. It has eight facilities in the country.
