Via Optronics AG, the Germany-based optical bonding and display solutions unit of Integrated Microelectronics Inc. (IMI), expects to post a 15- percent growth in revenue this quarter.
Markus Peters, Via Optronics chief financial officer, said the company expects revenue to be between 40 million and 45 million euros, after the company closed its third quarter with revenues of 49.4 million euros, up 13.3 percent from last year’s 43.6 million euros.
Total display solutions revenue reached 42.1 million euros, up 17.3 percent, driven by strong demand in automotive and industrial markets. Display solutions revenue represented approximately 85 percent of total revenue in the third quarter.
“We continue to execute on our strategy to increase our revenue in automotive and industrial applications,” Peters said during the company’s investor briefing last week.
Total sensor technologies revenue meanwhile was at 7.3 million euros, down 5.2 percent from 7.7 million euros last year. Sensor Technologies revenue represented approximately 15 percent of total revenue.
Peters said sensor technologies revenue was down slightly, mostly due to supply chain disruptions.
Earnings before interest, taxes, amortization and depreciation in the third quarter was at 1.1 million euros, down from 3.5 million euros last year.
The company posted a loss of 500,000 euros for the period, a reversal from the 1.5 million euros profit last year.
This brings the company’s nine-month loss to 4.7 million euros, a reversal from a 1.1 million euros profit last year. The nine-month revenues meanwhile were at 134.5 million euros, up 23.96 percent from 108.5 million euros last year.
