More Electric and Power Corp. (MORE Power) said the rollout of its three-year P1.8-billion modernization program for Iloilo City will resolve power outages.

Roel Castro, MORE chief operating officer and president, said the modernization entails the installation of a looping system in a 69-kilovolt sub-transmission facility which will provide backup power supply during preventive maintenance and repairs of any of the five substations around the city.

Castro said the loop will likely be tied to an alternate power source alongside switches in strategic locations to supply power to customers.
