IFEX generates $163M sales

The Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) said the 17th edition of IFEX Philippines last May 10 generated export sales of $165 million, slightly higher than the $163.29 million generated in 2023.

The three-day event at the World Trade Center Metro Manila in Pasay City was attended by nearly 10,000 visitors and was participated in by more than 500 exhibitors and event partners.

Some of the bestselling food categories at IFEX were read y-to-eat savories and home meal replacement, fish and other seafood products, fruits and vegetables, seaweeds, and plant-based meat alternatives.

Top buying markets are China, United Arab Emirates, US, Qatar, Australia, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Italy.

This year’s export food promotion efforts of CITEM is one that espouses the unifying concept of a traditional Filipino celebration of salu-salo or feast, which reflects the community of food micro small and medium enterprises, manufacturers, producers, distributors, and consumers in the export value chain.
