The International Container Terminal Services Inc., a listed company controlled by  Enrique Razon,  said on Wednesday that its Australia operation under Victoria International Container Terminal has signed a new enterprise agreement with local unions that will be in effect until March 2029.

“The agreement, which was secured without any disruption to operations, reflects the strong relationship between VICT and its workforce, and provides a solid platform for the future,” ICTSI said in a statement.

Among the agreement’s key highlights are “enhanced benefits and conditions of employees; greater flexibility to align with customer and industry requirements; and a secure industrial relations framework to support growth and innovation.”

VICT chief executive officer Bruno Porchietto said, “This outcome demonstrates our commitment to working collaboratively with our people and unions. This agreement not only delivers meaningful benefits for employees, but also provides VICT with the flexibility needed to service our customers and meet the evolving industry demands.”

Prochiette added  that by ensuring stability across VICT’s operations, the new agreement strengthens VICT’s ability to provide safe, reliable and efficient container in handling services to customers while supporting the well-being and engagement of its people.

“This is a positive agreement for everyone involved, giving VICT employees security and improved benefits, while providing the ICTSI subsidiary and its customers the continuity and certainty needed in today’s competitive supply chain environment,” he said.

VICT is Australia’s first fully automated container terminal and one of the most technologically advanced in the world, with a 1.4 million twenty equivalent unit (TEU) annual capacity at its Webb Dock East site in the Port of Melbourne.
