International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) said it will evaluate its right-of-first refusal when the Karachi Port is tendered for a new concession.

ICTSI is set to turn over to Pakistan’s port authority its operation in Karachi Port as its concession for the area ends by June 17.

The company has been developing and operating Karachi Port’s Berths 6 – 9, East Wharf since 2002, where it provides container terminal management services under a built operate transfer (BOT) agreement with Pakistan’s government through unit and Pakistan-listed Pakistan International Container Terminal (PICT).

“PICT has offered operations and management services when and if required by the Karachi Port Trust beyond June 17, 2023,” the company said.

“All non-concession assets including equipment and IT (information technology) systems will remain property of PICT,” it added.
