International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) announced its Argentine operation, under TecPlata SA, is now part of the SX2 River Plate Express service of Ocean Network Express (ONE).

The service connects Argentina with Asia, marked by the arrival of SX2’s Spirit of Dubai at the terminal this week, establishing a link with ports in Pusan, southern China, Rio Grande and Montevideo.

“The launch represents an agile and reliable logistics solution that boosts international trade in the region by improving transit times and enhancing operational efficiency,” the company said in a statement on Thursday.

Juan Pablo Trujillo, TecPlata chief executive officer (CEO), said the new service symbolizes the result of joint work and mutual trust.

“We are honored that leading companies like ONE and Newsan have chosen TecPlata as part of their logistics chain. Our terminal is designed to be an extension of our clients, a partner that supports their operations with efficiency, sustainability, and commitment,” he said.

Trujillo witnessed the arrival of the service, along with Fernando Maggi, President of ONE Argentina, and Luis Galli, CEO and president of Newsan.

“It is greatly satisfying to return to TecPlata in the context of an operation driven by the conviction and effort of teams that have proven themselves in meeting the highest standards. The efficiency indicators are exceeding our expectations. We decided to take on the challenge because we believe that each of our areas must build competitive advantages – and in that sense, TecPlata is a strategic partner with a forward-looking vision,” Galli said.

With the addition of the River Plate Service, TecPlata reaffirms its position as a key player in the Argentine port system, ICTSI said.

“The service not only represents an operational development for the terminal, but also a commitment to innovation, sustainability, and the growth of Argentina’s foreign trade,” it added.
