Hive Health raises $6.5M

DIGITAL health insurance provider Hive Health recently raised $6.5 million in Pre-Series A funding to enhance healthcare access for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) across the country.

Hive Health said key investors include the Sy family-backed Gentree Fund, BEENEXT, and other notable names like Y Combinator and Amasia.

Angel investors include David Wells, Lee Kheng Nam, Natasha Reyes and; Dr. Edwin Mercado.

The company said this funding will enable Hive Health to expand its services and enhance its technology platform, making comprehensive health insurance more accessible to SMEs across the country.

The company’s innovative approach has attracted hundreds of small and medium businesses, significantly improving healthcare experiences for their employees.

“We see immense potential in Hive Health’s innovative approach to transforming healthcare for SMEs. Leveraging our extensive local consumer knowledge and operational expertise, we are confident in Hive Health’s ability to cement its market leadership in the SME space and drive significant positive change in the Philippine market,” said Mark Sng, representing Gentree Fund.

Camille Ang, Hive Health chief executive officer and co-founder, said the fresh funds will help the company  invest in technology platform and operations that will further elevate the patient and employer experience.

Ang said Hive Health will be expanding its already extensive nationwide network to more healthcare providers, including those in more remote areas of the country.
