Hyundai trucks and buses Philippines gained the third spot in the commercial vehicle (CV) market as of April.
Hyundai Asia Resources Inc. (HARI), distributor of Hyundai CV in the Philippines said, total trucks and buses sales grew 72 percent to 3,720 units in January to April.
HARI cornered 19.1 percent with sales of 711 units, a 672.8-percent increase froma year ago.
In the truck segment, HARI said the top three categories of trucks: III, IV-A and V, comprise 94 percent of the total truck segment, with market shares of 58 percent, 24 percent, and 12 percent, respectively.
HARI placed third in these segments with 18.1 percent market share and sales of 658 units, which translate to a growth of 1,780 percent.
HARI entries in these segments are HD36L Maxculado, HD65 and HD65X, and Xcient trucks.
Bus segment sales, though challenged by travel restrictions in the new normal, still showed promising economic activity, as 89 percent share of sales went to Cat. IV-A buses.
HARI dominated with 76.5 percent market share and sales of 52 units, majority of which are from the County, which now has a 43- unit lead over the competition.
