The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) will provide insurance coverage to 6,600 Philippine Postal Corp. (PhilPost) personnel, including permanent and contractual employees and postmen nationwide.
The pension fund said in a statement yesterday PhilPost has allotted a budget of P616,000 for the insurance coverage.
It is the second agency that partnered with GSIS to insure their personnel.
“The insurance policy that will be provided by GSIS to PhilPost personnel includes accidental death or dismemberment, medical reimbursement and burial assistance,” Rolando Macasaet, GSIS president and general
“It is a big relief on the part of the workers… that they will be given insurance especially during this time of pandemic. They will have peace of mind knowing that someone will help their families in case something happens to them,” he added in Filipino.
Last June 14, the Manila City government also approved a P7.5-million insurance coverage to around 45,000 barangay officials, including tanods and chairpersons of the Sangguniang Kabataan. – Angela Celis
