Globe Telecom Inc. has started its network upgrades in eight key cities in Visayas and Mindanao to improve calls and broadband services in the areas.

Network activities are scheduled in Davao City, Cagayan de Oro City, Cebu City, Mandaue City, Lapu-Lapu City, Bacolod City, Iloilo City, and Boracay in Aklan from September until the end of this year, Globe said.

The upgrade of existing infrastructure in VisMin involves building new cellsites and adding more 4G/Long Term Evolution technologies to increase data capacity and improve internet speeds.
