Globe Telecom Inc. yesterday said it has completed the upgrade of its cell sites across 65 provinces resulting in clearer calls and faster data internet services.

In October alone, Globe said its customers already benefited from new and upgraded sites in 419 towns and cities across 65 provinces. It completed 104 new cell installations and 1,751 site upgrades during the said period.

For these areas, Globe used fourth generation (4G) Long Term Evolution, the cellular network technology that succeeds 3G. It offers better or higher data speed and improved network responsiveness than 3G, which means less lag and more customers can be served at the same time, Globe said.
