Globe Telecom Inc. has completed the expansion of its fifth generation (5G) network in 716 new sites in the country and has also ramped up roaming services globally.
Globe said its 5G outdoor coverage reached 97.7 percent in the National Capital Region and 92 percent in key cities of Visayas and Mindanao following the expansion of its 5G network, connecting 716 new sites in the first nine months of the year.
The network’s rapid growth is underscored by the 5.2 million 5G devices that connected to Globe for the month of September, signifying growing adoption among Filipinos, the company said.
Internationally, its 5G influence continues to grow with the expansion of partnerships to 156 carriers in 82 destinations, allowing customers to experience high-speed 5G services globally and positioning the Philippines as a notable participant in the 5G arena, Globe added.
Globe said its 5G roaming coverage extends to countries such as Guatemala, South Africa, Nigeria, Kazakhstan, Laos, Seychelles, India, Peru, Aland Islands, Crete, Croatia and Romania.
At the same time, inbound roamers visiting the Philippines can also benefit from its strengthened 5G infrastructure, the company added.
“With the robust expansion of our 5G network, we are not just enhancing connectivity; we are shaping a future where every Filipino is empowered with global, cutting-edge communication capabilities,” said Beck Eclipse, Globe chief customer experience officer, in a statement. – Myla Iglesias
