FTEB seizes  P5M vapes

The Fair Trade Enforcement Bureau (FTEB) said P10.46 million total fines and penalties were collected as a result of its monitoring and enforcement on uncertified products, half or P5.45 million of which are vape products.

Overall, FTEB

has issued 1,012 show-cause orders and 741 notices of violation , and seized of 138,523 non-compliant products valued at P43.6 million in its monitoring and enforcement in 2023.

FTEB said 977 administrative charges were filed.

The agency last year monitored 3,718 firms in compliance with the Price Act.

FTEB conducted onsite monitoring and enforcement of the Law on Products Standards in 11,757 physical retail firms.

The agency ’s dedicated Online Monitoring Units monitored 104,084 online firms.

The FTEB said it has prioritized intensified enforcement of the Vape Law.

Of the 56,926 online and physical vape shops monitored, 55,260 (97 percent) were non-compliant. This led to the confiscation of 18,017 uncertified vape products.
