The Philippines and France have agreed to enhance their bilateral trade and investments between.

Michí¨le Boccoz, ambassador of France to the Philippines, in a social media post on Monday, said she met with Trade Secretary Alfredo Pascual and his team.

“So many opportunities are open. We look forward to their coming to fruition,” Boccoz said.

Pascual meanwhile said the Philippines seeks to reintroduce itself as a rising business destination to relevant government agencies, private sector organizations, businesses, and investors in France.

“The DTI (Department of Trade and Industry) seeks to achieve this through its strategic economic priorities, including amended laws favorable to foreign investors, the drive towards more public-private partnerships, and the sustainability agenda of the government,” Pascual said in a social media post also on Monday.

At a forum led by the Philippines-France Business last October, Pascual urged French businesses to explore bilateral opportunities for infrastructure, transportation, and energy in the Philippines.

Pascual at the event also said the Philippines eyes France to be a key partner in science and technology-driven industrialization. – Irma Isip
