First Gen Corp. said its subsidiary FGEN LNG Corp. has requested the Department of Energy (DOE) to extend the validity of its permit to construct, expand, rehabilitate and modify its interim offshore liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal project in Batangas.
The company cited “events and circumstances not within the reasonable control” of First Gen as the reason for the request to extend the permit’s validity from Sept. 23, 2022 to March 23, 2023.
First Gen in a disclosure to the stock exchange FGEN LNG and its floating storage regasification unit (FSRU) provider, BW FSRU IV Pte. Ltd., have agreed to move the delivery of the FSRU BW Paris from the first quarter of 2023 to the end of second or early third quarter next year.
FGEN LNG is developing the LNG project to accelerate its ability to deliver fuel to the Philippines and to serve the requirements of existing and future gas-fired power plants both owned by First Gen and other companies. – Jed Macapagal
