First Gen Corp. launched its online environment, social and governance (ESG) platform to summarizeits approach to sustainability and lead in climate related efforts among local businesses.
First Gen said the platform would also be beneficial for investors who prefer to be involved in firms with strong and detailed ESG commitments.
“By pioneering this effort, we are early adopters of a transparent, comprehensive and real time platform to share our company-wide ESG commitments. While this summarizes our ESG efforts, we also plan to use this as a tool to benchmark against international best practices,” Valerie Dy Sun-Lim, First Gen vice president for finance and head of investor relations, said in a statement.
First Gen said the platform will also provide stakeholders with greater transparency and easier access on ESG-related information of the company.
As of last year, First Gen has a combined capacity of 3,492 megawatts. Its portfolio includes natural gas, geothermal, hydro-electric, wind and solar power. – Jed Macapagal
