The corporate business arm of PLDT Inc. plans to invest between $600 million to $900 million for the construction of its 12th data center which will be located in Metro Manila.
The 12th data center will have a power capacity of 100 megawatts (MW) and its cost will range from $6 million to $9 million per MW, Victor Genuino, ePLDT president and chief executive officer, said in an interview on the sidelines of the PH Digicon 2023 press briefing Friday.
ePLDT eyes to start the construction of the new data center by 2025.
“What’s important for us is we secured already the property. We already started the design of the data center, you know technology is changing so fast,” Genuino added.
The 12th data will address the demand of both hyperscalers and local enterprise clients in the Philippines.

Designed to be Rated-3 Certified and Rated-4 Ready, it is fit to host the most critical and power-intensive information technology infrastructure of hyperscalers and enterprises, ePLDT said.
“We’re going to launch the first phase of our data center (11th data center), we expect the full data center fit out 50 megawatts load to be finished by the first quarter of 2025,” Genuino said.
Currently, ePLDT offers a total rack capacity of nearly 10,000 and owns a network of 10 globally certified VITRO data center facilities strategically located across the country.
