“What’s important for us is we secured already the property. We already started the design of the data center, you know technology is changing so fast,” Genuino added.

The 12th data will address the demand of both hyperscalers and local enterprise clients in the Philippines.

In the first quarter of 2024, ePLDT will launch its 11th data center, VITRO Sta. Rosa, that will be the country’s largest and most advanced data center with a total power capacity of 50 MW.

Designed to be Rated-3 Certified and Rated-4 Ready, it is fit to host the most critical and power-intensive information technology infrastructure of hyperscalers and enterprises, ePLDT said.

“We’re going to launch the first phase of our data center (11th data center), we expect the full data center fit out 50 megawatts load to be finished by the first quarter of 2025,” Genuino said.

Currently, ePLDT offers a total rack capacity of nearly 10,000 and owns a network of 10 globally certified VITRO data center facilities strategically located across the country.

In a related development, PLDT Enterprise is holding a digital convention, PH Digicon, where global industry mavens, thought leaders and pioneers in technology come together to help drive technological enablement for Philippine enterprises.
