The construction of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) Subsection 1 in Kawit, Cavite and Megaworld Corp.’s Arcovia Hotel in Pasig City, have been awarded to construction firm EEI Corp. bringing its backlog to P39.24 billion as of end-August.
The new contracts also bring the company’s total project wins in the third quarter of this year to P19.1 billion, marking, a solid turnaround from its recorded performance in the previous year, EEI said in a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Ex-change (PSE) yesterday..
“MPCALA Holdings Inc. (MHI) recently awarded to EEI the construction of select-ed sections of CALAX Subsection 1 in Kawit, Cavite. It is a PHP 2.7 billion project which covers the construction of the roadway, drainage systems, and related structures,” EEI said.
Once completed, CALAX is expected to significantly improve connectivity be-tween Cavite and Laguna, easing traffic congestion and supporting regional eco-nomic growth.
Meanwhile, the scopes of work for the Arcovia Hotel cover civil, structural, and architectural finishing including painting and waterproofing works.
