The National Electrification Administration (NEA) is urging electric cooperatives (ECs) to reactivate the Association of EC Legal Counsels to help collectively resolve industry issues, including franchise renewal.
“With proper legal guidance and legal knowledge, every electric cooperative will be able to handle the challenges brought about by the market, the political environment, the climate change, financial issues and other things,” said Emmanuel Juaneza, NEA administrator, at an EC convention last week.
It was not revealed why the EC Legal Association stopped being active but it was formed way back 2016.
