Dole Packaged Foods LLC has expressed the prospect of expanding its business in the Philippines through research and development and product innovation.
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in a statement said Aashim Malhotra, vice president and managing director, Asia-Pacific region of Dole Packaged Foods relayed this to DTI Undersecretary Ceferino Rodolfo in a meeting last month.
The DTI said Malhotra emphasized the importance of the Philippines as Dole’s major agricultural hub.
Dole Philippines is a subsidiary of Dole Packaged Foods Worldwide.
Dole’s largest plantation of pineapples, bananas, and avocados and production facility for fruit juices is located in Polomolok, South Cotabato in Mindanao.
The Philippines also supplies all fruit juices exported by Dole to the United States, which is its largest market. Other countries in North America are also their export markets.
