DITO Telecommunity is on track to ramp up the expansion of its 5G coverage and network reach in the coming months to support its growing subscriber base, the company said on Wednesday.
As of July, DITO’s network covers 86 percent of the country, with 5G services available in 25 percent of that coverage area. The company said it aims to double its 5G coverage to 50 percent in the medium term as part of its ongoing expansion strategy.
DITO added that it has been aggressively rolling out a full-scale 5G Standalone network, which is built from the ground up, allowing the company to offer faster response times, more efficient performance, and support for new technologies.
Last week, DITO, the country’s third telco player, announced that it has breached the 15-million subscriber mark four years after it started commercial operations in March 2021.
The company said since its launch, it has rapidly expanded its presence nationwide, deploying next-generation infrastructure and offering value-packed data services that have disrupted and reshaped the local telecommunications landscape.
This achievement follows DITO’s recent recognition by Opensignal, an internationally respected authority in mobile network experience, as the fastest mobile network in the Philippines.
In its April 2025 mobile network experience report, Opensignal conferred 14 out of 16 awards to DITO, including wins across the 5G Experience section of the report.
The report highlighted the strength of DITO’s all-IP network and 5G Standalone (SA) infrastructure. It showed the telco player leading in speed and overall mobile experience; topping the charts in video experience, games experience, and voice app experience.
