Dito Telecommunity Corp. expects its revenues to hit P2.3 billion by yearend and is bullish to generate higher revenues next year as it continues to roll out its services nationwide.
“As of December 18, we reached our P2 billion revenue mark, we will end on the upside of the P2.2 billion to P2.3 billion or above the P2 billion mark (this year),” Adel Tamano, DITO chief administrative officer, said during a virtual press briefing.
DITO, which launched its commercial operation last March, has achieved several milestones this year, including reaching 5 million subscribers, building 4,100 towers, deploying 22,000 kilometers of fiber optic cables and expanding its coverage to over 500 areas nationwide, as of December 18, Tamano said.
DITO said it is bullish to further increase its revenues next year and is on track to achieve break-even on its fifth year of operation or by 2024.
“We see 2022 as very bullish given that time we will have over 300 additional areas, targeting more than 840 to 850 municipalities by yearend (2022). We have much brighter outlook for 2022,” Tamano said.
To support its business growth, DITO will also double its employees from more than 900 this year to nearly 2,000 employees by end of next year, he added.
IRodolfo Santiago, DITO chief technology officer, said the company is on track to expand coverage to 70 percent of the population by end of next year as part of its third-year commitment. – Myla Iglesias
