Third mobile operator DITO Telecommunity Corp. has passed the government’s fourth technical audit as it delivered way above the required minimum internet speed and network coverage area, according to the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC).
In a letter to DITO chief administrative officer Adel Tamano, the NTC confirmed the company passed its fourth yearly technical audit, with a national population coverage of 80.65 percent and combined minimum average broadband speed (MABS) of 357.14 megabits per second (Mbps), which are above the required 80.01 percent and 55 Mbps network coverage and speed, respectively.
The yearly independent audit is part of the conditions set forth in DITO’s certificate of public convenience and necessity.
“Therefore, pursuant to NTC Memorandum Circular No. 09-09-2018 and based on the factual findings reported by the independent auditor, R.G. Manabat & Co, the commission hereby declares DITO passed the technical audit of its commitments, national population coverage and minimum average broadband speed for the fourth year,” NTC said in the letter.
DITO recorded 74.97 Mbps for its fourth generation (4G) network and 639.32 Mbps for 5G for all sites with a combined MABS of 357.14 Mbps.
OpenSignal awarded DITO four awards in their latest report, including upload speed experience, availability, excellent consistent quality and core consistent quality.
