DigiPlus Interactive Corp. is increasing its budget for corporate social responsibility projects this year, allocating P100 million for the initiative.

The amount is five times higher than the P20 million spent last year.

“Plans are already in place to spend over P100 million on various projects and initiatives that provide support to important causes through the BingoPlus Foundation,” the company said in a statement.

Andy Tsui, DigiPlus Interactive president, said BingoPlus Foundation has identified four pillars of advocacy to focus on this year — education, health, community safety and resilience and online safety.

“The first, Bingo sa Edukasyon, is all about supporting the next generation of Filipino tech talents,” he said.

Tsui said BingoPlus Foundation signed a three-year FutureSmart Scholarship Program last year worth P6 million with iACADEMY, where it is now supporting 10 scholars studying under the program.

In health, Bingo sa Kalusugan seeks to provide accessible healthcare to Filipinos in need, providing financial support to the sick as well as potentially aiding local hospitals by boosting their facilities.

On community safety and resilience, Bingo sa Malasakit looks to address the most urgent and pressing needs of urban communities.

“In 2023, through major events such as Paskong BingoPlus and their National Bingo Day Celebration, the foundation was able to reach out to over 7,000 indigent families. The foundation provided noche buena packs to families from across Taguig, Manila, Malabon, Pasay, Valenzuela, Navotas, and Quezon City. With the increased budget for 2024, the foundation hopes to reach even more Filipinos through their efforts,” Tsui said.

The foundation’s Bingo sa Online Safety seeks to create safe online environments for all, Tsui said, in line with its commitment to responsible digital entertainment which is hoped to be extended to all digital spaces. – Ruelle Castro
