DICT generates 84M digital IDs as of Feb

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) has ramped up the deployment of the digital national ID and the one-stop platform eGovPH (e-Government Philippines) that allow seamless access to services both in the private sector and the government.

In a statement on Monday, the DICT announced that it has successfully generated 84 million digital IDs as of February.

These digital IDs have been used in over 100 million transactions, enhancing access to both public and private services while strengthening digital trust in governance, DICT said.

David Almirol Jr., DICT undersecretary for eGovernment, said the digital national ID is a game-changer in the government’s digitalization efforts.

“The digital national ID is more than just an ID—it’s the foundation of a truly digital government. It enables seamless access to services, reduces red tape, and fosters trust between citizens and the government,” Almirol said in the statement.

The eGovPH Super App, a one-stop platform that consolidates multiple government services into a seamless, user-friendly interface,  has 11 million users and 120 million recorded use cases, the DICT said,The app has integrated services from agencies such as the Department of Health, Philippine Health Insurance Corp., Government Service Insurance System, Professional Regulation Commission, Philippine National Police, Maritime Industry Authority, Land Transportation Office and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, among others.

Hundreds of local government unit services and government services, including eJobs, eHealth, eTravel, Start-Up Empowerment, Citizens eReport, OFW Services and Artificial Intelligence capabilities, have been introduced and integrated into the eGovPH app, driving further innovation in e-governance, DICT said.
