Detailed engineering design of Laguna road starts Dec.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is set to start the detailed engineering design (DED) for the proposed Laguna Lakeshore Road Network project (LLRN) in December this year and to be completed in 2023.

This after a consultant service contract agreement was signed between officials of the DPWH and of joint venture firm composed of lead consultant CTI Engineering International (CTII) Co. Ltd.; Chodai Co. Ltd.; Oriental Consultants Global Co. Ltd.; and Nippon Engineering Consultants Co. Ltd.

These companies ranked first in the procurement last August for the consultancy services of the DED for LLRN project-phase 1, a new road network on the western side of the Laguna Lake.

Under the contract amounting P135.485 million, the DED will be carried out for 15 months between December 2021 and February 2023. The DED will be funded by an additional financing of the Asian Development Bank’s Infrastructure Preparation and Innovation Facility.

The Laguna Lakeshore Road Network Project – phase I has a main alignment of 37.60 kilometers with eight interchanges in Sucat, Alabang, Tunasan, San Pedro/Binan, Santa Rosa, Cabuyao and Calamba.

This two-lane primary road consists of an 11.8-km viaduct from Lower Bicutan to Muntinlupa, and 25.80 kms. combination of onshore viaduct and embankment from Muntinlupa to Calamba.

It will feature an additional lane in each direction from Sucat, Muntinlupa to Santa Rosa, Laguna; a cycling track and promenade from Tunasan, Muntinlupa to San Pedro, Laguna.
