The pandemic has seen a surge in the demand for personal computers(PCs) and notebooks to address school and office-at home requirements.

Jason Chen, Acer chairman and chief executive officer, in a press conference over the weekend said consumers have shifted from tablets and mobile phones which had been the

popular gadgets the past 10 years.
With their versatility, PCs and laptops can be used for work, learning and social media, according to Chen.

Chen said Acer hopes to retain leadership by continuing to engage its customers not just throughout the pandemic over the long-term.

“In education, we want to help bridge the digital divide and cultivate talent around the world,” said Chen.

Acer Group also announced new commitment to source renewable energy for all of its energy use by 2035, Acer said it has joined RE100, a global corporate renewable energy initiative. In 2020, the Acer Group achieved 44 percent renewable energy use.

Acer’s environmental commitments are summed up with Earthion, a platform that combines the strengths of the company, its supply chain partners, consumers (channels), and their employees on energy, product design, packaging design, production, logistics and recycling.
