PETRO Energy Resources Corp. (PERC) through its subsidiary, Petro Green Energy Corp. (PGEC) has switched on a 360-kilowatts peak (kWp) solar rooftop power project in Mapua Malayan Colleges Mindanao (MCM) in Davao City on Monday.
Dodjie Maestrecampo, Mapua MCM president and chief executive officer, said the completion and activation of the solar rooftop project not only helps the school’s technological advancement and education but also promotes sustainable energy solutions and a more eco-friendly campus environment.
“… this project will not only help us achieve a more energy-efficient campus but will also provide invaluable hands-on learning opportunities for our students in energy science, engineering and environment-related courses,” Maestrecampo said.
Last February, PGEC and Mapua MCM signed an agreement to install the solar rooftop power project consisting of 600 units of solar panels in the school’s two main buildings.
Mapua MCM issued the notice to proceed last May 17 as installation took less than three months to complete.
