The Department of Agriculture (DA) has lifted the ban on poultry products from Poland.
DA Senior Undersecretary Domingo Panganiban issued the lifting in DA Memorandum Order 60 series of 2023 signed Wednesday after Poland provided evidence it has contained bird flu incidence.
The issuance specifically allows the importation of domestic and wild birds and their products including poultry meat, day old chicks, eggs and semen originating from Poland, subject to compliance with existing importation rules of the DA.
Based on data from the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI), the country imported a total of 249.37 million kilograms of poultry meat for the first seven months of the year.
