THE Chamber of Real Estate Builders Association (CREBA) said its five-point agenda aims to produce 500,000 housing units per year and address homelessness within two decades.

In a statement, CREBA said the group’s objective has been embodied in various bills and policy proposals on shelter finance and land access to achieve this goal.

Among the notable measures recently passed into law under the auspices of CREBA are the creation of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) and the amendments to the Balanced Housing Act.

CREBA national president Noel Cariño announced the group will hold its  annual national convention this year on October 16 to 18, at the Hilton Clark Sun Valley Resort in Pampanga in the observance of the “National Housing Month.”

Carino said the convention theme, “Revive & Thrive: Redefining the Future of Housing and Real Estate,” aligns with CREBA’s support for the government’s flagship housing program, Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) while promoting the industry’s over-all robust growth and resilience amidst global and local challenges.

Cariño said delegates from close to 30 CREBA chapters from all over the country to share valuable insights that will shape the Philippine real estate and housing landscape in the years to come against the backdrop of about 6.5 million housing backlog.

As a prelude to its national convention in October, CREBA organized regional housing conferences in various part of the country to spur discussions and draw industry-wide support at the ground level for the 4PH initiative.

Alejandro Mañalac, CREBA vice-president for international affairs and chair of the convention organization committee said attendees can expect discussions on economic resilience, technology use in real estate, public-private collaboration and sustainable development.

The three-day program aims to equip individuals and organizations with insights and partnership opportunities with industry leaders, government officials, and peers.
