Fiber broadband provider Converge ICT Solutions Inc. yesterday rolled out its free internet service at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 4, as it aims to deploy this in eight more major airports within the third quarter.
This is part of the Converge Free Wifi project through a memorandum of agreement with the Department of Transportation and airport operators Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority, Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) and Davao International Airport Authority last year.
Jesus Romero, Converge chief operations officer, said after the launch at Terminal 4 the company will deploy the service in eight more airports in the next two months, before it rolls out in other small airports owned and operated by CAAP.
“Now that our infrastructure is in place, Converge is ready and able to serve more facilities such as our airports, schools, and government offices all over the country. With our network design and technology, we can assure customers that we will provide fast, reliable, and consistent service, wherever they may be,” said Romero.
NAIA Terminal 4 is the first to be launched in the project. The next eight airports to get free internet are Francisco Bangoy International Airport/Davao International Airport, Mactan-Cebu International Airport, Bacolod-Silay Airport, Iloilo International Airport, Laoag International Airport, Pagadian Airport, Tacloban Airport and Zamboanga International Airport.
