The Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Philippine Association of Feed Millers Inc. (PAFMI) are set to sign a memorandum of agreement (MOA) on corn and soybeans contract growing in select provinces.
The MOA seeks to assure local farmers of a market for their produce, with technical assistance from DA and PAFMI providing the market.
This partnership comes following increased purchases by PAFMIL members of local corn.

PAFMI said it has have bought some 133,500 metric tons (mt) of local corn from growers in Isabela, Bukidnon, General Santos, Iloilo, Davao, and other provinces, encouraged by the bumper harvest and the good quality of this cropping season’s produce.
