Clark Water Corp. (CWC) has secured a notice to proceed (NTP) from the Clark Development Corp. (CDC) on its Compliance Action Plan (CAP)
The NTP was secured after the concessionaire agreed with the condition to cap the tariff increase at P4.35 per cubic meter (cu. m.) over a four-year period.
CWC has complied with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources’ water quality guidelines and general effluent standards of 2016.
CDC’s main contention against CWC’s original proposal is the tariff adjustment of P24.70 per cu. m. for water and wastewater but was reduced to P11 per cu. m. after the original proposal was denied.
CWC justified its original proposal on the ground it will spend around P1.4 billion to implement its solution with the use of the membrane sequenced batch reactor technology.
CDC said its engineers proposed the use of a hybrid bio-phyto remediation solution with lower capital expenditure and a maximum of 30 percent of the operational expenditure.
CWC is a subsidiary of listed water concessionaire, Manila Water Corp. – Jed Macapagal
