Local renewable energy firm Citicore Renewable Energy Corp. (CREC), through its affiliate company Citicore Solar Batangas 1 Inc. (CSBat 1), is seeking approval from the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) for the connection of its 50-megawatt (MW) solar project to the national grid.
A filing with the ERC showed the connection of the Luntal solar power project in Tuy, Batangas will cost P129.19 million, wherein P78.38 million is intended to fund the development of a plant switchyard and the remaining P50.8 million for the transmission line.
The filing showed the project will be exclusively funded by CSBat 1 and will not impact any regulated charges collected from consumers.
The ERC is scheduled to conduct an initial hearing for the proposed project on April 11.
Malaya Business Insight earlier reported CREC plans to allocate capital expenditure of more than P35 billion this year as the company is set to end 2025 with a portfolio of around 1,200 MW worth of projects.
CRC said projects scheduled to go online this year are solar — four in Tuy, one in Arayat in Pampanga, two in Pangasinan and another two in Pagbilao, Quezon.
All of these projects are set to be completed within the year and have a total capacity of around 1,000 MW and are mostly qualified under the government’s second round of Green Energy Auction.
