The Department of Trade and Industry’s Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) will lead a Philippine delegation on a market sensing mission to Taiwan on September 11 to 13 for the SDG Asia 2025 at the Taipei World Trade Center.
Aside from looking into new export opportunities, Philippine businesses will gain new knowledge and insights to “strengthen their role in the global sustainability landscape,” the DTI said in a statement posted on its website, on September 2, 2025.
The delegation will focus on sustainability, trade opportunities, and knowledge exchange in renewable energy, smart cities, and circular economy, zeroing on emerging business models, innovations and technologies, the DTI said.
The exposure and exploration will guide the Philippines in integrating sustainability into its trade strategies, fostering partnerships, and aligning with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the DTI said.
The DTI said the Philippines values “Taiwan’s leadership in renewable energy, energy-efficient infrastructure, waste management, and climate adaptation.”
Such leadership, the DTI said, “underscores its role as a strategic partner for knowledge exchange. With a net-zero emissions goal set for 2050, Taiwan provides a platform for collaboration that can equip local enterprises with tools to expand market reach, build resilience, and compete in a sustainability-driven economy.”
