Low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific expects passenger traffic to surge by about 25 percent to 30 million by yearend driven by aggressive expansion in the domestic market.

Last year, CEB and its subsidiary Cebgo reported a combined passenger volume of 24.5 million up 18 percent from 20.9 million in the previous year, company data showed.

“ We carried 24.5 million passengers last year and we expect a growth rate in the mid’20s for this year, barring any supply chain issues. But that’s basically the number we’re looking at. So we expect to grow our passenger numbers by roughly in the mid of 20 percent,” Xander Lao, CEB President and Chief Commercial Officer said in a press briefing in Paranaque yesterday.
