THREE remaining subsections of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (Calax) are on track to be completed by the third quarter of next year, according to MPCALA Holdings Inc.
All five subsections in Laguna of the 45-kilometer Calax project are operational while the three subsections in the Cavite portion are under construction.
These include subsection 1 from the Cavitex Connection to the Open Canal Interchange, subsection 2 from the Open Canal Interchange to Governor’s Drive, and subsection 3 from Governor’s Drive to Silang Aguinaldo Interchange.
Raul Ignacio, MPCALA president and general manager, said of these three segments, subsection 3 is targeted to be operational by the end of August. Subsection 2 is more than 76 percent complete while subsection 1 is over 71 percent complete, Ignacio said.
“We want to complete the (right-of-way) acquisition within the year. Then, we can complete the entire Calax by the third quarter (2025),” he added.
Calax is set to reach a total length of 45 km by 2025, featuring eight interchanges: Technopark, Laguna Boulevard, Santa Rosa-Tagaytay Road, Silang East, Silang (Aguinaldo), Governor’s Drive, Open Canal and Kawit Interchange.
