The Bureau of the Treasury (BTr) has fully awarded the treasury bonds auctioned yesterday amid healthy demand for the government securities.

The reissued seven-year IOU, with a remaining term of six years and four months, fetched an average rate of 6.237 percent.

This is lower than the 6.375 percent coupon set upon original issuance.

The auction was 1.6 times oversubscribed with total tenders reaching P46.5 billion.

With its decision, the BTr raised the full program of P30.0 billion, bringing the total outstanding volume for the series to P124.7 billion.

Last Monday, the BTr announced that the government is eyeing to raise funds amounting to P585 billion in the second quarter of the year, through its regular issuance of treasury bills and treasury bonds.

According to BTr, it seeks to raise P195 P195 billion via its treasury bills auction in April to June, and P390 billion by offering treasury bonds.
