BICOL’S first solar power plant developed by Calabanga Renewable Energy (CARE) Inc. in Camarine Sur is now operational, according to the Board of Investments (BOI),
In a statement on Monday, the BOI said at full commercial operations, the facility will offset 36,000 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions per year, equivalent to replacing a coal plant of similar capacity.
With over 137,000 solar panels, it delivers 74 MWp of clean energy and is set to power approximately 46,000 homes annually for the next 30 years.
CARE is an affiliate of Singapore-based Nexif Ratch Energy Inc. (NREI)
The first fully operational Green Lane-certified project is part of a broader portfolio of renewable energy initiatives spearheaded by NREI, which has also received Green Lane Certificates for the Bacolod Solar Power Project and two offshore wind ventures: the San Miguel Bay Wind Power Project and the Lucena Wind Power Project
