The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has signed a 25-year contract allowing property firm Ayala Land Inc. (ALI) to lease the 12-hectare John Hay Technohub (also known as Ayala Technohub) in Camp John Hay, Baguio City.
In a statement on Tuesday, the BCDA said the lease agreement signed on May 16, 2025, has been projected to earn P600 million in revenues for the government for the duration of the contract that started May 2025.
The BCDA entered into the new contract with ALI following the recovery by the BCDA of Camp John Hay from the property’s previous management, the CJH Development Corp. (CJHDevCo), in January.
The agency did not indicate when the contract with the CJHDevCo expired. Records from the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) showed then Ayala Technohub in Baguio City was registered as an information technology zone in 2009.
The BCDA did not indicate the lease terms of the new contract with ALI but said the new rates represent 15 percent of gross lease revenues of the Technohub from its locators, mostly business process outsourcing (BPO) and retail companies. This is higher than the 10 percent under the previous terms in the BCDA contract with CJHDevco.
The BCDA said the terms of the agreement have ensured the business continuity of locators in the John Hay Technohub, which currently employs 3,000.
Ayala Land on its website says the Technohub is a fully integrated PEZA-certified and BPO-ready community.
