APG International Aviation Academy (APGIAA) has signed an agreement with the Aurora Pacific Economic Zone and Freeport Authority for the establishment of an aviation school.

Capt. Arnel Miguel, APGIAA president and chief executive officer, said the school will initially need up to 3,000 square meters of space within the zone, expanding to two hectares.

Miguel said the company will initially operate three to four training planes which could cost up to P25 million.

Another P20 million will be spent for the construction of the hangar, classrooms and accommodation facilities.

According to Miguel, the expansion to a second site will meet the rising demand for flying schools from both local and international students. APGIAA also operates in Subic Bay Freeport Zone.

Miguel said eventually, APGIAA will offer charter approved maintenance organizations shuttle services between Subic and Aurora ecozone in Casiguran.

Since 1999, APGIAA has established itself as a leading school offering unique, low-cost, multidisciplinary programs for success in the international aviation industry. To date, it has successfully produced more than 3,000 graduates in the country.
