The Integrated Port of Batangas, operated by listed Asian Terminals Inc. (ATI), said it has welcomed the Trans Harmony Green, the first LNG-powered pure car and truck carrier (PCTC) to dock at the port.

The vessel, operated by the Toyofuji Shipping Co. Ltd., made its maiden call on May 28, a “historic event” for the CALABARZON’s main international port,  the ATI said in a statement on Thursday, May 29.

Trans Harmony Green, with a capacity of 3,000 passenger cars, operates on dual-fuel engines that use LNG or diesel, reducing carbon dioxide or CO₂ emissions by over 25 percent and virtually eliminating sulfur emissions, contributing to greener maritime transport.

ATI has been leading sustainability efforts by implementing LED lighting; using solar panels, automated systems and electric cargo handling equipment; and fully powering Batangas Port with renewable energy.  This has positioned ATI as a pioneer in eco-friendly port operations in the Philippines, the company statement said.

For the first quarter of 2025, the ATI reported an 86 percent surge in net income to P1.4 billion from P753 million in the corresponding same period in 2024, driven by double-digit growth in its international container operations.

ATI said it attributed the profit increase to higher revenues from its robust international container operations at the Manila South Harbor (MSH) and Batangas Container Terminal (BCT), which expanded by 41 percent and 33 percent from a year earlier, respectively.

Revenues from January to March 2025 reached P4.74 billion, representing an increase of 37 percent from P3.47 billion.

For this year, ATI has raised its capital expenditure by 40 percent to P4.2 billion from P3 billion in 2024, in line with its ongoing expansion strategy and investment commitments with port authorities.
