The Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) – Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) will draft an enhanced Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) expanding their partnership in enforcing the Ease of Doing Business Law.

ARTA, through its Office of Deputy Director General for Legal (ODDGL), implements the enforcement mandate of the Authority under Republic Act 11032, or the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018.

CIDG assists the anti-red tape watchdog in conducting investigations and entrapment operations against alleged fixers and government employees who are in collusion with them.

In a recent meeting, both parties agreed to closely coordinate to fast-track the finalization of the agreement which outlined more simplified procedures in their operations plan.

“The PNP-CIDG has been ARTA’s partner in enforcing the EODB Law. We are glad to have them fully onboard in the administration’s continuing campaign against ease of business and anti-red tape violators,” said ARTA Secretary Ernesto Perez.

Last year, President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. called to streamline lengthy bureaucratic processes and eliminate illegal fixers in government premises.
