Motorcycle taxi (MC Taxi) firm Angkas, has extended aid to over 1,000 biker families in several cities in Metro Manila to recover from the aftermath of typhoon Carina.
George Royeca, Angkas chief executive officer, recently held welfare checks in biker families within Pasay, Manila and Taguig.
The support included rain gear, financial aid, grocery supplies, and Xteer engine oil to the riders.
Royeca also facilitated wellness forums to engage with the bikers directly, emphasizing the company’s support and solidarity.
Angkas is offering complimentary motorcycle repairs at the Tagumpay Center for those whose bikes suffered damage due to the rain.
The firm also implemented Signal Zero, an initiative that reduces Angkas commissions to zero. This allowed bikers to keep the entirety of a day’s fares, mitigating the financial impact of the storm.
Bikers impacted by the flood are encouraged to seek assistance from the company.
Angkas operates in Metro Manila, Cagayan De Oro, and Cebu City.
