Manila Electric Co. subsidiary, Spectrum, has energized Alphatech Development Corp.’s 856.80 kilowatt peak (kWp) solar rooftop project in Guiguinto, Bulacan.
The project is expected to save about P3.3 million in energy costs annually for Alphatech which is a unit of plastic products and services producer, Plastimer Group of Companies.
The facility will generate approximately 1,125,835 kilowatt hours of clean energy per year to reduce the company’s carbon footprint by an estimated 802 metric tons equivalent to more than 82,000 trees planted and 3,194,070 kilometers reduced in vehicle travel per year.
Plastimer Group is seeking ways to expand its capabilities to reuse the plastic resin of its products after they reach their useful life apart from improving open spaces at its plants by turning them into parks and sanctuaries.
