AirAsia targets to attain 70% pre-COVID capacity by Q4

AirAsia Philippines is targeting to attain as high as 70 percent of its pre-pandemic capacity for its international routes in the fourth quarter.

With the easing of travel restrictions, AirAsia recently restarted its operations to Hong Kong; Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia; and Seoul, South Korea.

AirAsia said its international passengers continue to increase gradually month on month, growing total guests flown abroad in June 2022 by 354 percent versus May 2022.

The airline added its flight frequency is expected to further increase with the resumption of its Manila to Singapore four times weekly flights starting July 1.

Based on forward bookings made as of June 27, the airline expects to fly almost 10,000 guests to Singapore in the third quarter of the year.

For its domestic operation, AirAsia Philippines is expected to achieve 100 percent of its pre-COVID flight frequency by September. – Myla Iglesias
