Low-cost carrier AirAsia Philippines will resume the operation of its Cebu hub with five routes starting November this year, capitalizing on “ber” months or travel season .

The airline will reopen three domestic and two international routes including Iloilo, Caticlan, Davao, Kuala Lumpur and Macau.

Flights to these destinations are scheduled to commence on November 15, 2025, using Airbus A320 aircraft, the airline said.

The gateway to Central Visayas, AirAsia is banking on Metro Cebu’s strong market demand as evidenced by the Department of Tourism Region 7’s tourist arrivals recorded at 5.1 million in 2024.

“Cebu remains a major driver in realizing our growth story in the Philippines. We recognize the value of this very important route, connecting via Cebu to key domestic and international leisure markets, ” AirAsia Philippines President & Chief Executive Officer Suresh Bangah said in a statement on August 31.

The Cebu hub’s reopening coincides with the start of the peak season when more than the usual number of guests embark on their holiday travels.

AirAsia flew 2.88 million passengers in the first half of this year, of which 2.38 million were domestic flights and 497,411 were international flights, according to the Civil Aeronautics Board.
